EMG 66 Active Humbucker Pickup in Gold
The EMG 66 delivers the tight, articulate response of an active humbucker with a refined aesthetic in brushed gold. This neck-position pickup excels at capturing defined note separation and consistent output levels across tracking sessions, combining aggressive clarity with controlled dynamics that sit cleanly in dense mixes. The solderless installation system means minimal downtime integrating this pickup into your recording rig.
Tone & Electronics
Powered by Alnico V magnets paired with ceramic pole pieces, the 66 produces a balanced tone with excellent articulation across the frequency spectrum. The active design requires a single 9V battery and delivers the noise rejection and output consistency that define EMG's signature character, capturing clean definition with precision during recording and maintaining headroom through saturated overdrive layers in the mix.

The solderless system streamlines setup with included wiring harnesses and a complete accessory package. You receive a 25K volume pot, 25K tone pot, battery bus, stereo output jack, two-pickup in/out bus, mounting hardware, and all necessary connecting and output cables—everything needed for a straightforward installation.

Do I need soldering experience to install this?
No. The EMG 66 uses a solderless installation system with plug-in harnesses, making setup straightforward and minimizing downtime. All necessary wiring connectors are included.

The EMG 66 handles both. It delivers defined articulation and clean separation in clean settings, and maintains clarity and consistency when pushed through overdrive and saturation.
