Description
EMG 60 Long Shaft Active Humbucker Pickup in Chrome
The EMG 60 is a workhorse active humbucker that captures articulate, punchy midrange with controlled dynamics and a noise floor low enough for pristine recording and tracking sessions. Its covered design in brushed chrome maintains a classic appearance while the solderless connectivity streamlines installation and modifications. This pickup excels in recording modern rock, metal, and high-gain productions where clarity and output stability are essential for tight mixing and post-production work.
Tone & Recording Performance
With a ceramic magnet, 10K DC resistance, and 2.95 kHz resonant frequency, the EMG 60 produces a focused, articulate response that translates accurately through your mix chain without excessive midrange bloom. Peak output reaches 3.0V with an RMS of 1.0V and output noise floor of -89 dBV, ensuring clean, high-fidelity signal tracking even when layering heavily processed or overdriven guitar parts in multitrack sessions.
Power & Setup
This active design runs on a single 9V battery with an extended 3000-hour battery life, drawing only 80 microamps during operation—ideal for long studio sessions without power concerns. The package includes a Quik-Connect cable, pre-wired split shaft volume/tone control set, output jack, battery clip set, and mounting hardware—everything required for quick installation and reconfiguration between tracking setups.
