Description
EMG 60-8XH 8-String Active Humbucker Pickup in Brushed Gold
The EMG 60-8XH delivers tight, controlled output with exceptional clarity across extended-range tunings. Engineered for recording sessions and live tracking where articulate note separation and dynamic headroom in eight-string configurations are non-negotiable, this active humbucker captures aggressive playing and high-gain contexts without losing definition. The brushed gold finish adds visual distinction while the active circuitry ensures consistent performance regardless of cable length or impedance loading—critical for maintaining transparent signal chain integrity through your audio interface.
Active Electronics & Tone Shaping
Powered by a single 9V battery, the X preamp provides added headroom and dynamic control tailored to extended-range instruments. The integrated active tone control (VLPF) rolls off high frequencies on demand, giving you surgical control over brightness and mud during tracking and mixing—enabling you to dial in focused, mixable tones that sit cleanly in dense arrangements without requiring heavy EQ correction in post-production.
Construction & Integration
Ceramic magnets paired with steel pole pieces deliver the aggression and punch expected from EMG's professional-grade designs. The pickup fits standard eight-string humbucker routs, making integration into your existing extended-range rig straightforward and enabling you to refresh your capture chain with minimal downtime in the studio.
