Description
EMG 60-8H 8-String Active Humbucker Pickup in Brushed Gold
The EMG 60-8H delivers the classic warm, articulate character of EMG's legendary 60 design scaled for eight-string applications. This active humbucker pairs aggressive midrange clarity with controlled output, making it equally effective in extended-range metal, progressive rock, or any session demanding tonal definition across a wider frequency range. The brushed gold finish adds visual distinction while maintaining EMG's reputation for consistent performance and reliability in the studio environment.
Tracking & Mix Performance
Built on EMG's traditional humbucker architecture with exposed pole pieces, ceramic magnets, and steel pole pieces, the 60-8H maintains the model's signature balanced response—neither as hot as the 81 nor as warm as the 85. The design excels at capturing both clean articulation and driven aggression without excessive output compression, allowing your recording chain and mix to maintain responsive dynamics across the full eight-string spectrum.
Setup & Integration
This active pickup operates on a single 9V battery and ships with EMG's solderless quick-connect harness, streamlining wiring and enabling fast swaps between takes or session setups. The standard eight-string humbucker rout ensures straightforward mounting in any compatible instrument without modification, keeping studio downtime minimal.
