EMG 58X Long Shaft Active Humbucker Pickup in Chrome

The long shaft potentiometer accommodates guitars with deeper cavities or non-standard control-cavity spacing that require an extended control-shaft length. If your guitar's controls sit deeper than standard or use non-traditional pot layouts, the long shaft variant ensures proper fit and function.

No. The EMG 58X uses a solderless installation system, eliminating the need for a soldering iron. All connections snap or clip into place, streamlining installation for players with or without wiring experience.

The pickup comes with two 25k volume potentiometers, one 25k tone potentiometer, a battery bus, and a stereo output jack. You'll also need a 9V battery to power the active circuitry.

Both are high-output active humbuckers for metal and hard rock. The 58X features the X Series preamp architecture, which delivers enhanced headroom and touch sensitivity compared to the 81, allowing for more nuanced dynamics while maintaining aggressive output.

The EMG 58X is engineered for metal, hard rock, and drop tunings. Its aggressive, high-output character and noise-free active design are optimized for those genres; jazz and blues players typically favor lower-output, vintage-voiced pickups.
