Frequently asked questions
Are the specs and electronics truly identical between these two?
Yes. Both feature the same Maple/Walnut multi-ply neck with carbon fiber, 25.5" scale, 14" radius Ebony fretboard, Schecter Diamond Decimator and Sustainiac pickups, and identical control layouts. The only difference is the finish color.
Which finish is better for gigging or recording?
Neither has a sonic advantage—finish does not affect tone. Choose based on stage presence preference or personal style. Charcoal Burst suits traditional metal imagery; Sky Burst stands out visually.
Are these guitars good for extended-range playing and technical work?
Yes. The ultra-thin C-neck, 24 X-Jumbo frets, and set-neck construction with Ultra Access support fast single-note passages and comfortable upper-fret reach, making both ideal for metal, progressive, and experimental styles.
What is the Sustainiac system and why does it matter?
The Sustainiac is a battery-powered neck pickup that generates infinite sustain and feedback manipulation via a dedicated switch with three modes: Fundamental, Mix, and Harmonic. It expands sonic possibilities beyond traditional guitar sounds for experimental and ambient textures.
