Frequently asked questions
Which pickup fits my guitar?
The JMaster Active is built for Jazzmaster-format guitars with single-coil cavities. The Revelation is a humbucker set designed for standard dual-humbucker guitar cavities. Verify your guitar's pickup format before purchasing.
Do I need to solder either set?
No. Both sets include solderless quick-connect systems and complete wiring harnesses. However, the JMaster includes all pots and electronics; the Revelation ships with potentiometers, giving you full control over tone shaping in either case.
Which sounds better for jazz or blues?
The JMaster delivers articulate, hum-free single-coil clarity ideal for jazz studio work and indie. The Revelation's warm Alnico II response and balanced sustain suit traditional blues and classic rock better. Tone preference and your instrument type determine the best fit.
What's the ongoing maintenance difference?
The JMaster requires a 9V battery replacement every 715 hours of use. The Revelation is completely passive and needs no batteries or active electronics maintenance.
