The AKG CGN321 STS is a professional tabletop gooseneck microphone designed for fixed installations and conferencing—not a primary choice for music recording or studio tracking. Its cardioid pattern and compact 30 cm neck suit stationary setups like panel discussions, interviews, or ceremonial recording where the mic position is locked and multiple speakers lean in from different angles. If your workflow includes capturing speech, ceremonies, or ambient room audio from a fixed point, its rugged build and programmable switching offer straightforward, reliable operation.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the gooseneck length and how much table space does it take up?
The CGN321 STS features a 30 cm slim-line gooseneck, designed to take up minimal table space while allowing flexible positioning for speakers at varying distances and angles.
What functions can the programmable switch handle?
The switch can be programmed for push to talk, push to mute, push on/off, or low cut on/off, giving you control over how the microphone is triggered and managed during events.
Is this microphone suitable for music recording or studio use?
No—the CGN321 STS is engineered for conferencing, houses of worship, courtrooms, and installation audio. It is not recommended for studio recording or music production.
How durable is the switch, and what connector does it use?
The switch is rated for more than 25,000 switching cycles and features a reinforced, heavy-duty metal housing. The microphone connects via a professional gold-plated 3-pin XLR connector for secure, long-lasting contact.
Will the cardioid pickup pattern reject sound from the sides and rear?
Yes—the cardioid pattern provides off-axis rejection, meaning it captures sound primarily from the front while reducing pickup from the sides and rear, useful in venues with ambient noise or multiple sound sources.
