Description
AKG AB4000EW Antenna Booster
The AKG AB4000EW is a compact, inline antenna booster engineered to strengthen wireless microphone reception in RF-challenged studio and live recording environments. Its rugged metal housing and straightforward power delivery make it a dependable tool for home studio owners, remote recording engineers, and fixed installations where signal dropout threatens take integrity.
Signal Boost & Coverage
This booster delivers 17 dB of amplification across the 470–952 MHz frequency range, compensating for cable losses between 3.5–17.5 dB to restore signal integrity over longer runs from antenna to receiver. The result is extended wireless range and fewer dead zones in the recording space, reducing re-takes caused by intermittent dropouts during critical performances or overdubs.
Design & Build
The unit measures 110 mm in length with 50 mm height and features rugged, waterproof metal housing built to withstand studio setups and transport between sessions. An in-line power LED display and cable length adjustment switches provide quick diagnostics and flexible configuration without requiring additional external interfaces, keeping your signal chain clean and troubleshooting fast.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does B-Stock mean for this antenna booster?
B-Stock means this unit is fully functional with minor cosmetic imperfections—light blemishes and surface wear on the exterior casing. These marks are purely superficial and have zero impact on audio performance, signal amplification, or structural integrity.
What wireless antennas is this booster compatible with?
The AB4000EW works with RA4000 B/EW, RA4000 EW, SRA2 B/EW, and SRA2 EW antennas. It connects inline between your antenna and receiver to boost the incoming RF signal before it reaches the wireless system.
How much signal boost does it provide, and what cable losses can it compensate for?
It delivers 17 dB of amplification across 470–952 MHz and compensates for cable attenuation losses between 3.5–17.5 dB, effectively restoring signal strength over longer antenna cable runs and reducing dead zones.
Does it need external power, or does it draw power from the antenna cable?
The AB4000EW uses remote powering via the antenna cable itself, eliminating the need for a separate power supply. An in-line power LED display provides quick visual confirmation that the booster is active.
What temperature range is it rated for, and is it suitable for touring?
