Frequently asked questions
Which guitar has more frets?
The C-6 Deluxe has 24 Narrow X-Jumbo frets, while the PT Standard has 22 jumbo frets. The extra frets on the C-6 give more access to higher notes for lead playing.
What's the difference in pickup character?
The PT Standard uses Schecter Diamond Standard humbuckers tuned for articulate cleans and balanced tone across genres. The C-6 Deluxe uses Diamond Plus pickups designed for dynamic, tight rhythm tones and expressive lead work, favoring higher-gain styles.
Are both guitars suitable for metal?
The PT Standard is not ideal for metal due to its tone voice. The C-6 Deluxe is specifically voiced for metal and progressive styles with its tighter, more focused character.
Why is the C-6 Deluxe cheaper if it's professional-grade?
The C-6 Deluxe is B-stock, meaning it has minor cosmetic imperfections that do not affect playability or tone, allowing for significant price savings on a professional-quality instrument.
