Frequently asked questions
What's the main difference between 6-string and 7-string?
The Damien-7 adds a low B string for extended range and drop tunings common in djent and modern metal. The Nick Johnston stays traditional at 6 strings, making it more familiar for rock and metal players who don't need the extra range.
How do the pickups differ in tone?
The Damien-7 uses high-output Diamond Heretic pickups for aggressive, heavy tones with tight low end. The Nick Johnston uses an HSS configuration with articulate single-coil neck and middle pickups plus a humbucker bridge, offering more tonal variety across rock and alternative styles.
Which is better for fast playing?
Both have thin C-profile necks and jumbo frets designed for speed. The Damien-7's multiscale design optimizes tension across different scale lengths, while the Nick Johnston's traditional single scale and contoured double-cutaway offer familiar ergonomics for most players.
Why is the Nick Johnston listed as B-stock?
B-stock typically means the unit is a returned or floor-display item with cosmetic wear but full functionality and professional performance, sold at a discount from new pricing.
