Frequently asked questions
Why is the Sunset-6 a left-handed guitar when the Sun Valley is right-handed?
The Sunset-6 Triad is specifically designed for left-handed players, while the Sun Valley Super Shredder FR-S is right-handed only. These are distinct product lines built for different player orientations.
What is the Sustainiac on the Sun Valley and why does the Sunset-6 lack it?
The Sustainiac is an electromagnetic sustain device that extends note duration and creates harmonic feedback, found on the Sun Valley for advanced lead techniques. The Sunset-6 uses traditional pickups without this feature, focusing on straightforward high-output tone.
Which guitar is better for drop tunings and extended range playing?
The Sun Valley Super Shredder FR-S ships with Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky strings (.009-.046) specifically chosen for drop tunings, while the Sunset-6 includes Regular Slinky (.010-.046). The Sun Valley's lighter gauge and Sustainiac sustain make it the better choice for extreme tuning experiments.
What is the key difference in bridge design and playability?
The Sun Valley uses a Floyd Rose Special locking tremolo for pitch-bending and vibrato effects but requires regular maintenance and setup. The Sunset-6 uses a hardtail bridge that stays in tune instantly with no tremolo complexity, suiting players who prioritize stability over effects.
