Frequently asked questions
What's the main difference in video compatibility?
The HPX-AV101-HDMI accepts HDMI inputs directly. The HPX-AV102A-DP-R converts DisplayPort input to HDMI output, so it's for devices with DisplayPort connectors. Choose based on whether your source equipment has HDMI or DisplayPort.
Do I need 4K capability, and does it matter?
The HPX-AV101-HDMI specs don't mention 4K limits. The HPX-AV102A-DP-R explicitly supports 4K @60Hz (4096x2160). If you're connecting 4K sources or displays, the DisplayPort module is the safer choice.
Which is better for a mobile or portable setup?
The HPX-AV101-HDMI has a fixed 6.56-foot integrated cable suitable for semi-permanent setups. The HPX-AV102A-DP-R's retractable cable (5 ft pull + 5 ft pigtail) is designed for flexible routing in fixed installations; it's not marketed for portable personal use.
What does B-Stock mean for the HPX-AV102A-DP-R?
B-Stock typically indicates open-box, refurbished, or cosmetic blemish inventory. The unit is fully functional and rated for 10,000 cycles, but it may lack original packaging or have minor external wear. Verify return policy with the retailer.
