Frequently asked questions
Which one fits my five-string bass?
Only the EMG 40DC is designed for five-string basses with its extended 4-inch housing. The GZR P HZ Set is a four-string solution.
Do I get everything I need to install these?
The GZR P HZ Set includes both pickups, pots, cable, ground wire, jack, and adjustment screws — a complete package. The 40DC is a single pickup with solderless wiring but does not include pots or output hardware.
Which sounds more modern?
The EMG 40DC is designed with modern tone in mind — crisp, punchy, and clear. The GZR P HZ Set deliberately recreates vintage 1970s tone and character.
Are both hum-free?
The GZR P HZ Set uses Alnico 5 coils and a split-coil J to eliminate hum. The 40DC uses ceramic bar magnets and dual-coil humbucker design, also hum-free.
