Sabian 17" HHX X-Plosion Crash Brilliant Finish vs Crotale Road Case
These are completely different product categories: the HHX X-Plosion is a crash cymbal for drumset performance, while the Crotale Road Case is a protective hard case for pitched percussion instruments. Choose the crash if you need a bright, cutting cymbal for rock or metal; choose the case if you need transport protection for crotales.
No sales tax on orders shipped outside California — total cost beats national retailers that charge sales tax in nearly every state.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use the HHX X-Plosion Crash for jazz or folk?
The HHX X-Plosion is designed specifically for hard rock and metal with bright attack and fast decay. The store lists jazz and folk as not ideal genres for this cymbal, so it may sound too cutting and aggressive for those styles.
What makes the HHX X-Plosion different from other 17-inch crashes?
The HHX X-Plosion combines a bright brilliant finish with dark tonal complexity due to Sabian's super-sized hammering process and Tone Projection design, giving it cutting clarity without sounding thin or one-dimensional.
Does the Crotale Road Case require removing the instruments before playing?
No. A distinctive feature of this case is the ability to play your crotales directly from inside it, making it ideal for quick setup during performances and rehearsals without needing to remove the instruments.
What is the price difference between these products?
Both products are listed in the budget price tier, though no specific prices are provided. Comparing exact cost requires checking current retailer pricing.
