Frequently asked questions
Can I use the Flight Case to store the HHX Complex Suspended?
Yes. The Flight Case accommodates cymbals up to 22 inches in diameter, which covers the 17-inch HHX Complex Suspended. However, the case protects cymbals during transport and touring rather than providing storage for practice or home use.
What skill level do I need to play the HHX Complex Suspended?
The HHX Complex Suspended is designed for intermediate, advanced, and professional percussionists. Its tonally complex character and responsiveness across dynamic ranges suit experienced musicians in orchestral, chamber, jazz, and classical settings.
Is the Flight Case suitable for cymbals smaller than 22 inches?
Yes. The Flight Case holds cymbals up to 22 inches in diameter, so smaller cymbals like the 17-inch HHX Complex Suspended fit easily with room for additional cymbals in one organized unit.
Why is the HHX Complex Suspended not ideal for metal or punk?
The HHX Complex Suspended features quick articulation combined with rich, dimensional sustain designed for orchestral, jazz, and chamber music. Metal and punk styles typically require different tonal characteristics and response patterns that other cymbal designs provide more effectively.
