Frequently asked questions
Can I use the Loomis Noumenon in a standard 6-string guitar?
Yes, the 6-string Loomis Noumenon with Alnico 8 magnets works in any guitar with a standard humbucker route. It will produce aggressive high-output tone optimized for standard tuning.
Will the Jazzmaster Silencer work in guitars other than Jazzmasters?
The Jazzmaster Silencer is engineered as a direct replacement for Jazzmaster pickup cavities. It maintains authentic Jazzmaster dimensions, so compatibility with other offset guitar designs may vary.
Which pickup set handles extreme drop tunings better?
The 7-string Loomis Noumenon with Alnico 5 magnets is specifically engineered to prevent mud and maintain tight low-end definition in extended-range and heavily-dropped tunings. The Jazzmaster Silencer is not designed for this application.
Are both sets passive pickups requiring no extra circuitry?
The Loomis Noumenon uses passive design requiring no preamp. The Jazzmaster Silencer is also passive but incorporates triple-coil technology for hum rejection without active electronics.
