The AKG APS4 is a professional-grade UHF antenna distribution system built into a compact half-rack metal housing designed for multi-receiver wireless setups. This unit consolidates RF signals from multiple antenna sources and distributes them efficiently across up to four receivers, making it essential infrastructure for larger wireless microphone installations. The rugged construction and straightforward BNC connectivity make it a reliable centerpiece for expanding wireless system capacity without signal degradation.

Signal Distribution & RF Performance

The APS4 accepts RF input from two independent antenna paths via BNC connectors and distributes that signal across ten RF output BNC sockets, each capable of feeding a separate receiver. Switchable attenuation settings (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 dB) allow precise level matching and prevent overdriving connected receivers, critical when managing multiple units in close proximity. The system operates across the extended 470–952 MHz frequency range, covering UHF wireless microphone bands used worldwide.

Power Management & Expandability

The rear panel antenna inputs supply 10 VDC to power up to three active antenna elements per signal path, eliminating the need for separate antenna power supplies on compatible active antennas. Two additional antenna outputs allow cascading of up to three further APS4 units for large-scale multi-zone installations. Note that this variant ships without its external 12 VDC power supply, which must be sourced separately.
